All summer camps are 5-day camps, Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 12:00 PM. The camps are entirely computer-based and can be attended either in-person at our campus in Shreveport, LA or online. Attending a summer camp means being taught software and experimenting with the tools digital media professionals use. Additionally, campers are taught by industry professionals and DMI alumni!
Ages 10-14│ 8AM -12PM
Campers attending the beginner’s animation camp will learn the fundamentals of creating 2D animation using Blender. Using their own creative ideas, campers will implement their knowledge to make unique animations. This camp is the equivalent counterpart to the Level 1 Animation Camp but aimed at younger audience. Previous summer camp attendees have animated fairy tales, martial arts fighting sequences, and much more!
Online students will need:
Broadband (Fast Speed) Internet.
Computer/Laptop that is Zoom capable.
GIMP – GNU Image Manipulation Program, a free program that runs on most operating systems.
Blender, a free 2D/3D animation package.
Helpful but not Required:
Computer Camera
Graphics Tablet
Students attending in person will be provided everything required.

Using their own creative ideas, campers will implement their knowledge to make unique animations. This camp is best for campers who have experience animating or have taken animation camps at DMI before. Previous summer camp attendees have animated fairy tales, martial arts fighting sequences, and much more!
Online students will need:

Campers attending the game development camp will learn the fundamentals of creating video games. Using their own creative ideas, campers will implement their knowledge of game development to make unique games! This camp is great for students who want to learn more about how the mechanics of video games and are interested in making them!
Online students will need:

Computer/Laptop that is Zoom capable.
GIMP – GNU Image Manipulation Program, a free program that runs on most operating systems.
Unity 3D, a free game development engine used by industry professionals.
Helpful but not Required:

Ages 14+│8AM – 12PM
Campers attending the marketing and design will receive hands-on experience creating and designing digital graphics. Campers will learn the basics of marketing and will participate in several assignments that will strengthen their design skills. This camp is great for students with an interest in pursuing a career or hobby in digital marketing or graphic design!
Online students will need:
Broadband (Fast Speed) Internet.
Computer/Laptop that is Zoom capable.
Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator (Free trials are available).
Helpful but not Required:
Computer Camera
Graphics Tablet
